The CFU, in statements released at the weekend, said most farmers had resisted the illegal evictions. Several farmers have stopped work in protest against the anarchy. A few have fled after the police either failed to act against the invaders or guarantee them safety. The invaders have threatened to kill the resisting farmers. The gangs continue to disrupt farm operations, beating up workers and killing animals. Although the police have acted in some cases, the invaders have continued to terrorise farmers and workers with impunity. TOP |
